Privacy policy

The contact form on this site asks for your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, an optional note about where the swimmer is right now, and an optional message. That is the whole list.

When you submit it, those answers are sent to us as an email and land in the TayyebiSwims inbox. This site keeps no database and stores no copy of your enquiry — it exists in that inbox and nowhere else.

Whatever you write in the message box comes through as you wrote it, so if you mention your child's name, age or a medical condition, that arrives in the email too. Please do not feel you need to include anything medical to get a reply; the registration form asks properly when the time comes.

The form also records the moment the page finished loading and carries one hidden field that a person never sees. Both exist to tell an automated submission apart from a real one. Neither identifies you.

Like any website, this one is served by a computer that keeps a log. Our host records the pages requested, the time, the browser and operating system, and the IP address the request came from. This is ordinary server operation and we do not use those logs to build a picture of individual visitors.

The site also uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read, and Google Ads tagging to tell whether an advert led to an enquiry. Both are loaded through Google Tag Manager. They set cookies in your browser and report to Google. What we look at is aggregate: how many people came, from where, and which pages they read.

The typeface this site uses is served from our own domain rather than fetched from Google Fonts, so simply reading these pages does not announce your visit to a font server.

If you arrive here by clicking a Google advert, the link carries an identifier from Google — a long code in the address bar named gclid, wbraid or gbraid. It identifies the advert click. It does not identify you.

The site remembers that code for the length of your visit, in your own browser, so that it survives you reading a second page before pressing a button. It is held in session storage, which your browser discards when you close the tab. It is never sent anywhere by itself.

If you go on to the registration app, the code travels with you and is stored beside your registration. Later we tell Google that one of its clicks resulted in a signup. Google learns that, and nothing else — this is the reason there is no advertising tag on the registration form itself, where the sensitive information is.

The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and Google Ads and are used for measurement and advertising. The site does not need cookies to work — if you block them, every page still loads and the contact form still sends.

Every browser can block or delete cookies in its settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics everywhere at once using Google's opt-out browser add-on, and change what Google may use for advertising at My Ad Center.

The contact form has a tick box asking whether we may text you. It is not ticked for you, it is not required, and leaving it alone does not stop us replying by email or phone.

If you do tick it, texts you get from us are written and sent by a person about your enquiry and your lessons — scheduling, a change of time, that kind of thing. We do not run an automated messaging service and we do not send marketing blasts.

To stop them, reply STOP, or simply say so in any reply, or email us. There is no special keyword you have to get right. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

We use your email address to answer you and to handle your lessons. We do not add enquiries to a marketing list. If we ever start sending anything promotional, it will be something you opt into, and every one of those emails will carry a working unsubscribe link.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. A small number of companies handle it on our behalf because they run parts of the site:

• Vercel — hosts this website and keeps the server logs described above.
• Resend — delivers the contact form to our inbox.
• Google — analytics, advertising measurement and tag management.

Beyond that, we would disclose information only where the law requires it, or where it was necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.

Enquiries stay in our email for as long as we might reasonably need to refer back to them, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Server logs and analytics data are kept on our providers' own retention schedules. The advertising code in your browser disappears when you close the tab.

This site is written for parents and adult swimmers, and nothing on it is aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If a child has sent us something through this site, email us and we will delete it.

This site is served only over an encrypted connection, so what you type into the contact form is encrypted in transit. The inbox it arrives in is protected by a password and two-factor authentication. We keep no database of enquiries on this site, which means there is no store of them here to breach. No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather tell you exactly what protects your information than describe it vaguely.

You can, at any time, ask us to:

• tell you what we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your enquiry and contact details;
• stop contacting you, by any or all methods.

Email hello@tayyebiswims.com and we will do it. We will not ask you to justify the request.

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page and the date at the top changes with it. We would rather you could see when it last moved than take our word for it.
